Trump Attacks Former Ally Netanyahu

Scathing Attack on Netanyahu

Former President Donald Trump has launched a scathing attack on his once-close ally ex-Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu accusing him of disloyalty.

The pair who were once close allies will meet after the Israeli prime minister gives a speech to Congress and meets with President Biden at the White House on Wednesday.

But in an interview with Fox News Trump said: "I was never a big fan of Bibi," using Netanyahu's nickname.

"He's been very disloyal and I don't like people who are disloyal," Trump added.

Trump did not provide any specific examples of disloyalty but has previously accused Netanyahu of being too close to Democrats.

During his presidency, Trump was a strong supporter of Netanyahu and moved the US embassy to Jerusalem, a move that was welcomed by Israel but condemned by the Palestinians.

However, Trump's relationship with Netanyahu reportedly soured after Netanyahu congratulated Joe Biden on his election victory in 2020.

Trump has repeatedly made false claims that the election was stolen from him and has accused Netanyahu of being a "RINO" (Republican in name only).

Netanyahu has not responded to Trump's latest attack but is due to speak at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) conference in Washington on Monday.
